
Christine Brewster gained her first degree at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1967, in Music, Divinity and English. Following her completion of a PGCE, also at Newcastle University, she embarked upon a teaching career in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, which culminated in sixteen years as Headteacher of a Middle School. Two music diplomas (ALCM and LTCL) were gained in 1976 and 1978, and an MA degree in Educational Psychology at the Institute of Education, London University, in 1984. A PhD in Theology at the University of Wales, Bangor, was also achieved, in 2007.
Christine was awarded the Oxford Diploma in Ministry in 1998. Following this, she was ordained deacon (1998) and priest (1999) in the Church of England, and subsequently gained ministerial experience in Church of England parishes in the dioceses of Oxford, and Ripon and Leeds. She currently serves three rural churches in the diocese of Bangor in the Church in Wales, as House for Duty Priest in Residence. She also undertakes administrative responsibilities for the Exploring Faith, Theology for Life Course, in the diocese of Bangor, and is involved in the initial ministerial training of curates and as a mentor for the Centre for Studies in Rural Ministry (CSRM) at St Deiniol's Library, Hawarden.
